About Amelia

I officiate only funerals, memorials and celebrations of life because I cherish the beauty of life and I cherish the importance of final goodbyes. I know how heavy loss is to carry, and I know that in coming together in grief and sorrow, funerals are a place to remember the love we hold and share for those we have lost.

When I’m not conducting ceremonies, you'll usually find me trying to keep my not-so-tiny human and our two cats, Lily and Lula, happy. In my downtime, you’ll catch me engrossed in a book, pruning flowers in my garden, or taking my nieces Willow & Poppy out for a forest walk (yes, they’re dogs!). And, on the occasional weekend, you may see me laughing in a bar with my friends and a delicious cocktail (or three).

I have dedicated five years to working in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and have cherished every moment. Exploring different cultural identities and ways of life has fueled my thirst for knowledge, and my decision to pursue a new career came with a heavy heart but excitement to serve what I believe to be my purpose. I also manage a fantastic charity, and you may see my name on a couple of children’s picture books I’ve written!

When it comes to the passing of our loved ones, we often forget to grant ourselves grace in these uncertain times of loss. Should you wish to have me officiate your loved one's funeral or memorial service, I promise to prioritise practising patience with you so we can work together to create a service that will honour your loved one's memory.
